Cadbury Picnic Chocolate Bar

Nobody talks about Cadbury Picnic the way they talk about Dairy Milk or a Flake. It does not get the nostalgia press. It does not show up much on those lists of Britain's greatest chocolate bars. And yet walk into any petrol station, any corner shop, any newsagent with a chocolate display worth looking at, and there it is. Always there. Moving consistently. Because people who know Picnic actually rate it, and the ones who haven't tried it yet tend to reach for it out of curiosity once they look at what's inside. 

What's inside is genuinely a lot. Chewy caramel wraps around a layer of crispy rice cereal, all of it studded with crunchy peanuts and plump dried grapes, then the whole thing gets coated in smooth Cadbury milk chocolate. Caramel at 30 per cent of the filling, peanuts at 13 per cent, rice cereal at 10 per cent, dried grapes at 7 per cent. It's a busy bar. Genuinely busy. Most chocolate countlines give you one or two textures and call it done. 

Cadbury Picnic is suitable for vegetarians and uses sustainably sourced cocoa through the Cocoa Life programme, which partners with the Fairtrade Foundation to support farming communities in cocoa-growing regions.
